GDS Brings Moving Floor Displays to Market
GDS AND FLASMA JOIN FORCES TO BRING MOVING FLOOR DISPLAYS TO MARKET
Global Display Solutions Ltd. (GDS), a market leader in the design and manufacture of industrial
digital displays, and Flasma, innovators in moving image in the floor, have joined forces to
promote and manufacture the Flasma range of in-floor displays for the e-Signage market
(airports, railways, bus stations) and retail environments (shopping centres, supermarkets etc.).
Flasma selected GDS to supply LCD screens for its moving floor units after being impressed by
the size of GDS's operation, the Company's manufacturing expertise and its thriving sales
channels across Europe, the U.S and the Far East. The initial agreement between the two
companies requires GDS to supply Flasma with 32" and 37" LCD screens, although in line with
market demand, this agreement is likely to extend to include bespoke sized screens.
Richard Lee, Flasma Managing Director explains, "I am confident that our strategic alliance with
GDS will prove a worthwhile investment. Not only has GDS the necessary manufacturing
capabilities that we have been looking for, but the Company's global sales channels are also
well-placed for penetrating the travel and retail marketplaces worldwide."
As moving floor displays can be installed into the floor, both for inside and outdoor applications,
Flasma has had to ensure the product is suitable for the demands of rugged environments, and
meet all E.U and U.S health and safety requirements. Capable of supporting five tonnes of
weight once installed into the unit and covered with a 3m film, the LCD screens are sturdy,
virtually weatherproof, slip resistant and are proofed from scratches and graffiti.
The patented moving floor displays are ideal for crowd control, information and advertising are
just now entering the market following a lengthy quality-testing programme.
